..... and the soil of Slovene Istria, who cherish the know-how and tradition of Vinakoper, and who appreciate the precision of the oenologist’s perception of wine.

The most important aspect of the Club is that it enables its members to have exclusive access to a variety wines from selected locations, and of selected varieties and vintages. These wines are characterized by the perfect colour, scent, and taste, and the infinitely reproducible prestige. These wines, available in limited quantities, have been named the Istrian Rubies, and are intended for Club members, but are unavailable in wine shops. By selecting different varieties and sorts from among Istrian Rubies, members may complement their own wine collection, the potential, experience, and abundance of flavours of which will only improve with maturation. The Istrian Rubies Collection is unique, though the value and price of the rubies can only be determined by the collectors, members of the Istrian Rubies Club.

The Characteristics of Istria Rubies Club Members

• The Istrian Rubies Club is intended for individuals of similar minds, with a refined attitude towards wine, to which they are dedicated with heart and soul.
• Members appreciate the natural characteristics of Slovene Istria, which is distinguished by the fertile Istrian soil, an exquisite location and Mediterranean climate, as well as the unique energy of the sun and wind.
• Members respect the abundant tradition of Vinakoper relating to vineyard cultivation and wine production.
• Members respect the oenologist’s extensive knowledge, as well as its sense for the selection of a proper wine, distinguished by the appropriateness of taste and fragrance.
• Members are considerate of the positive effects of wine, and advocate the responsible consumption of wine.
• Members wish to enhance their knowledge of wine, and to recognize its characteristics and gastronomic potential.
• Members desire to improve their general knowledge relating to wine and culture, including the cultivation and production of wine, wine production-related skills, the attitude toward wine, and its cultural characteristics.

 

Club Management

The Club has been operating since 2008. The membership is voluntary, and is acquired by signing the application form and by respecting membership rules.
