Winemaking: Ripe grapes full of phenols were carefully de-stemmed and macerated for 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured in new and used Barrique barrels for at least 3 years.

Appellation: Wine-growing Primorska region, wine-growing region of Slovenian Istria

Location: Debeli rtič and Purisima,

Soil type: Eocene flysch with marl and sandstone

DESCRIPTION OF THE WINE: 

Colour: Extremely intensive ruby red colour with an edge of pomegranate.

Aroma: Intensive tasting notes of ripe dark fruit, wild cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate, and juniper berries with a pleasant aroma of fine wood.

Taste: Tasting notes of a ripe blueberry, wild cherry, dark chocolate, and spices can be found in the especially rich and complex taste of this wine. The finish, however, offers us nice tannins and pleasant, noble notes of wood.

Aging potential: over 8 years

Food and wine pairing recommendation: This wine excellently pairs with beef, pork, and game meat dishes. It goes nicely with dishes accompanied by spicy sauces as well. It goes very well with medium matured cheeses.

Serving temperature: 16–18°C

Aging potential: 8 years and up
